Dear you...

Hi again, I decided I'd also post this pencil drawing I did of Mick St.John...kinda. It was supposed to look like him, but it's close enough. For those who don't know, Mick St. John is a character from CBS's show Moonlight. Yeah I watched it and yeah I loved it, every episode. The thing about the show was that St. john was such an intriguing character, I mean talk about a beautiful monster, that man had skeletons in every one of his closets, but man did he try his best to be good. And that's really all we can try to do, strive to be good.
Anyhow, enjoy!
This is the original scanned copy I took and...
the one below it is a bit modified copy of the same drawing.

Pretty in Pink, Ugly in Green

Hi again, it's been an exciting and busy two weeks. Not to bore you with those details, I'll just skip most of it. All you need to know is that Halloween is approaching and it's really breathing some life into my beautiful monsters art project. Although I feel like some of the stuff I have done is kind of different from what these past drawings have been like. I have a couple of pencil sketches and of course the lovely picture that this post is all about.
As you might have picked up, the name of the drawing is Pretty in Pink, Ugly in Green, it's one of my favorite drawings so far. The whole reason I started this project was because I was fascinated with the ugly side of people. So often we get to see the fine polished side to people, but that's not really how people are, or are supposed to be. The truth is we're ugly in all our beauty, we want and we need more than we give and we get. Perhaps it is good that we hide our true nature, because no matter how fascinating it is, it's better we try to behave like decent people. Still there are feelings bubbling and stirring under the surface, and some of those feelings are more than often greed or jealousy. I find the color that best represents these emotions is green, so without further a due, here you are: Pretty in Pink, Ugly in Green.

The picture is done with watercolor pencils and then I adjusted the contrast and the lighting.
Hope you enjoyed my art, Love Always, Alexandra!

Always a Flower Girl, Never the Bride

Hello again! Even though I basically spent my entire weekend watching the fourth season of Hawaii Five-0, I still managed to draw this lovely flower girl with blood on her...well teeth? I just had this funny idea to draw a girl who is never the bride, bridesmaid or princess of  the day. She's always plain old Jane with a flower crown. So instead of representing the Green Monster, she just got blood thirsty eyes and a wicked smile.

This picture was done on watercolor paper with watercolor pencils. Then it was modified with a drawing board to give it more depth or color, because my scanner just made it look kind of...lukewarm? I don't know, anyhow I thought it could use a splash of color!
Hope you enjoyed my art work, Love Always, Alexandra!
